can fake retro effects help with tech anxiety?
i downloaded a photography app that took me back to 2006-2007,
where i used my father’s Sony Ericsson to download games on waptrick, make stop motion with my toys, make music with music dj.
it made me nostalgic while thinking about how creativity and my use of tech interact:
when i was younger tech was secondary and creation completely separate,
today they are one, and 80% of my time is spent with screens.
retro aesthetics are soothing because they remind me of a (romanticized) era where technology wasn’t that important in my life and i wish i could go back to
making these anachronistic pictures help with escaping time and create a timeline where alloco is still 300F.
